Getting its name from the old fortress at the Monastery of the Virgin Mary (near the Corfu Aquarium), the beach of Paleokastritsa in Corfu consists of about six sand-and-pebble-filled seashores, all of which are surrounded by gorgeous olive trees! The main beach of Agios Spiridon hosts awe-inspiring teal waters and a lengthy, sandy coast in its U-shaped shore.
One of the most well-known beach spots in the Ionian Sea, Paleokastro’s curved shape allows for various sea activities (such as canoeing), though there are plenty of organized watersport facilities on-site! Furthermore, if you prefer not to try out a new watersport, there are many nearby caves that you can visit by renting a boat!
This cosmopolitan beach destination is fully-organized, offering an abundance of sun loungers and parasols to rent, as well as a handful of high-class restaurants, entertaining beach bars, and plenty of nearby settlements! Given that it is highly popular, it will be crowded during the high season, so it is suggested that you visit early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
